Bosworth spindles are simply amazing, wonderfully engineered for long and fast spinning.
The picture here shows the relative sizes of the mini, large, and midi spindles. The super-light featherweights have the same diameter as the mini, with a thinner whorl. Jonathan Bosworth keeps the shafts smoothly sanded but unfinished for better grippability, which can be very useful for new spinners or when spinning smooth fibers such as mohair, alpaca, or English Leicester Longwool.
A great 'Bosworth Spindle Goal' would be to have a set of the sizes in the same wood :-), or to have a set of the sizes, each in a uniquely distinct wood. I have one or more (usually, more!) of each size in my own collection, they are lovely spindles with terrific spin, control, and handle.
